How We Work with Clients

PSF Advisors and its close affiliates work with clients by focusing on three simple steps that ensure the best response to the client's need:

  1. Identifying opportunities: We determine, collaboratively with the client, where there may be opportunities for performance improvement, using the kinds of questions offered in the sample questions sections. Those questions may relate to one of the key functions of the firm, across several functions, and even touch on organization and governance.
  2. Matching expertise to the opportunity: We determine, collaboratively with the client, what kind of expertise and experience is most appropriate, and we agree on what type of intervention would be most effective: consulting, speaking, training, coaching, or some combination.
  3. Working together to achieve results: Finally, we determine, collaboratively with the client, who is the most appropriate advisor or affiliate to work with them personally. In some situations, more than one of the advisors or affiliates may work with the client at the same time.

In all cases, our focus is to do the right thing for the client, even to the extent of referring the client to a competitor who would fit the immediate need better. We believe strongly that always doing the right thing for the client will ultimately reflect well on us.

Our Expertise

The advisors offer deep expertise and experience in several areas, and the close affiliates add expertise in certain complementary areas:

Consulting assistance, where Scott Parker and John Malitoris have worked individually and together with small teams, task forces, or internal committees that the client has assembled from the appropriate areas and disciplines that need to be involved to investigate the opportunity and to develop practical changes leading to improvement. The focus of this consulting assistance is on improving the effectiveness of key processes and people while building an enhanced climate of trust and collaboration within the firm.

Training program design and delivery, where John Malitoris has developed and delivered leadership skills development programs that bring out the strengths and shore up the weaknesses of professional service practitioners, and where Scott Parker has run programs designed to improve market effectiveness and strategic focus.

Coaching where John Malitoris is an experienced coach to executives and staff managers, and where Scott Parker has provided developmental guidance to executives of professional service firms for over 20 years.

In addition , PSF Advisors has a small number of carefully selected affiliates who offer complementary services to ensure that the most appropriate services are provided to our clients as they strive to improve their performance, both as individuals and organizations.

Client Confidentiality and Respect

We conduct ourselves with utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times with respect to our clients and their business. We do not disclose the names of our clients without their prior knowledge and approval, and we treat the confidential information that they share with us as proprietary to the firm and not public information. Our relationship with our clients must at all times be discreet and trusting for us and for them to be effective.
